Taxation and Economic Growth

The question of how to achieve the maximum level of sustainable economic growth over the next decade is presently a high policy priority. Given this, Policy Exchange is launching a new report that considers how taxes affect economic growth.  Specifically, we consider how the level of taxation, changes to specific taxes, and changes to the structure of taxation affect economic growth in both the short- and longer terms. Drawing on this analysis, we make specific recommendations concerning which taxes should be raised, and which should be the priorities for tax cuts – now and later.
