Offshore turbine boom faces headwinds

Synopsis

"In May, the right-leaning thinktank Policy Exchange issued a report saying the UK “should negotiate the abandonment, downgrading or its exit” from the Renewable Energy Directive because achieving its target would have “hugely disproportionate costs”. Offshore wind costs about £160 per megawatt hour of electricity produced, it says. The alternatives are all under £100."
