Matthew Oakley appointed as a member of the Social Security Advisory Committee

Synopsis

The Minister for Welfare Reform, Lord Freud, announced today Matthew Oakley as a new appointment to the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC).

Lord Freud said:

"I am delighted to welcome Matthew Oakley to the Social Security Advisory Committee. He will bring a wealth of skills and experience to the Committee at a time of fundamental reform of the welfare state."

Paul Gray, chairman of SSAC said:

"This appointment has been made at a particularly interesting time in terms of the welfare reform agenda, and the skills and experience that Matthew will bring to the Committee ensure that we will continue to be able to provide authoritative and pertinent advice."
