The Future of UK Manufacturing
Policy Exchange's Manufacturing and Innovation Summit will consider how Government policy might better support manufacturing by encouraging innovation and the uptake of science and technology, to ensure the necessary building blocks in education and skills are created to keep Britain at the forefront in the future.

Building on our Research Note, titled Innovation and Industry: the Role of Government. The note proposes phasing out the R&D tax credit for big business, in order to release £500 million to promote innovation and improve access to finance. The small firms’ tax credit, costing around £200 million, would be retained.
