Google: The role of technology in protecting and promoting freedom of expression
David Drummond, Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President for Corporate Development at Google, spoke at Policy Exchange
He warned that attacks on free speech are becoming more common as countries copy the censorship strategies of their neighbours. He advocated governments who support freedom of expression actively intervening to put pressure on other leaders when they negotiate treaties.
