The UK is missing the opportunity to be a world leader in tackling climate change due to Government inaction

Six Thousand Feet Under says that:

• Carbon Capture and Storage is essential to meet UK CO2 targets and deliver clean electricity

• UK is ideally placed to spearhead a new movement to cutting carbon emissions internationally

New report examines a range of the big issues which will challenge the new Mayor and ultimately determine the success of his mayoralty.

The new Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, was elected a month ago with the votes of over 1 million Londoners. This has given him a considerable popular mandate.

Now, a new report from leading think tanks Policy Exchange and Localis, the local government and localist think tank, looks at the big issues the new Mayor will face in his first term as set out by some of the foremost experts and commentators on London politics.

Political concerns have been raised in Europe and the US about the $2-3trillion muscle of Sovereign Wealth Funds and the possibility that they might mask ulterior political aims but a new report for the leading think thank Policy Exchange – Who’s Afraid of Sovereign Wealth Funds? - concludes that their long-term investment approach represents a positive force for global economic interdependence.

The report makes several possible policy recommendations in the UK context.
